Ask Away, We’re All Ears
These are some of the most frequently asked questions by our clients. We have helped thousands of Canadians apply for Disability Tax Credits and other benefits with the government. If you have any additional questions, please contact us using the form below.
Yes, you can apply on behalf of a child in your custody. In fact, applicants may qualify for additional benefits if the child was under 18 at any time in the past 10 years.
At Aace Disability, we only charge a contingency fee if we successfully secure a refund for you. Our fee of 23% is among the lowest in the industry.
The refund amount you may be entitled to depends on several factors:
- Age
- The year the condition began
- Province of residence
- Taxable income (for you and any supporting family members)
- Any previous bankruptcies on file
The CRA will deduct any outstanding balance and send you the remainder.
The process typically takes 3–6 months, although timelines can be shorter or longer depending on your previous eligibility and how quickly your medical practitioner completes the required documentation.
Let us review your case to ensure your claim is fully maximized. There are no fees unless we recover an additional refund for you.
The CRA does not consider ability to work as a criterion for this credit.
As of 2025, the program has also been opened to low-income applicants. We can apply the credit to a supporting family member to secure an additional refund. If you were a child during any of the last 10 years, your parents or guardians may qualify for a Child Disability Benefit regardless of income.
If the individual was alive at any point in the past 10 years and the executor provides the necessary paperwork, we can still apply retroactively for these credits.
Our team frequently uncovers additional refunds through our 10-year tax review process.
